Sourced from the misty hills of Wazuka, Kyoto - Japan’s most revered matcha-producing region. This is a single-cultivar expression of the prized Okumidori tea bush.
While most matcha on the market is blended, our Okumidori is a pure, unadulterated expression of a single cultivar. Harvested exclusively during the first flush of spring (Ichibancha), the leaves are carefully shade-grown to enhance chlorophyll and L-theanine levels, then traditionally stone-milled into an ultra-fine powder.
The farm that we source from adheres to strict JAS Organic certification, requiring natural soil management and a chemical-free environment for over three years prior to harvest.
